My Inspiration
Just about everything imaginable went into the ultimate family retreat for this Mullica Hill, NJ, home.
What does a pool designer design when it’s time to create his own outdoor living space? Chris Volk calls it "my inspiration project," an opportunity to stretch his imagination, to test his ideas, and prove the benefits of the best processes, materials and technologies.
Project Details
It takes an inspired (and brave) designer to undertake creating the ultimate family retreat for your own family. It takes a deep understanding of water chemistry and the complexities of maintaining safe pool and spa water to engineer the ultimate water experience. And it takes an experienced team of builders, artisans and technicians to build and maintain the ultimate experience in outdoor living at home.
You can see many design elements and special features in this gallery. But you’d have to get in the water to experience the full effect of the ultimate water experience. There’s a clarity of the water that’s seldom seen. The water feels smooth on your skin, and when you get out, you feel the difference even more intensely. Your hair feels soft. There’s no chlorine smell—no smell at all, thanks to an advanced oxidation process, consisting of a sophisticated ozone system with a UV light oxygen condenser.
